Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition review Sat 14th & Sun 15th Sept

We had a lovely time at Murrayfield this weekend where we met lots and lots of excited couples.

It’s always nice chatting to new couples and finding out about their plans and their requirements for their big days.

It was also nice to bump into a number of familiar faces such as Independent Humanist Ceremonies https://www.humanist-ceremonies.org/ as well as some of our collaborators including, My Scotland Wedding https://www.myscotlandwedding.co.uk/ and one of the event’s sponsors The Big Gay Wedding Directory https://www.thebiggayweddingdirectory.com/

The InterContinental Edinburgh The George has been welcoming hotel guests since 1881. At its heart are five listed Georgian townhouses, built in 1775 as homes for Edinburgh’s most prosperous citizens. Winner of Luxury Brand Hotel of the Year at the 2019 Scottish Hotel Awards, The InterContinental Edinburgh The George is a beautiful venue at which we’ve had the pleasure of shooting several times.

Kateryna + William Balmoral Hotel 22nd June 2019

Period features, timeless grandeur and sumptuous catering make The Balmoral one of the most prestigious of Edinburgh’s wedding venues. The sweeping staircase, priceless chandeliers and dramatic Edinburgh views make filming there an absolute privilege. We were joined by Glasgow-based photographer Paul Cameron.

Holly + Michael – Mansfield Traquair – 22nd June 2019

Edinburgh’s ‘Sistine Chapel’ is simply extraordinary.  Located in the heart of the city and lovingly restored to create a versatile space which combines stunning, historic architecture with state-of-the-art lighting. We never tire of filming at the Traquair. It’s a masterpiece.

Sarah-Jane + Scott – Harburn Barn – 21st June 2019

It was great to be back at Harburn Barn on the Harburn Estate, the venue for our very first wedding shoot back in 2013. The estate was as idyllic as we remembered. A slightly blustery day couldn’t spoil a beautiful outdoor service. Yasmin + Chris – Murthly Castle – 8th June 2019

Wow! Murthly Estate has got to be one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Scotland! It has everything – it overlooks the River Tay near Dunkeld in Highland Perthshire. It also has the spectacular and historic chapel of St. Anthony the Eremite, as well as an epic marquee and of course… don’t forget the castle!

Kirsty + David – The Tall Ship – 7th June 2019

Kirsty and David chose the Tall Ship on the Clyde as the venue for their intimate and atmospheric ceremony below decks! It was one of the most original venues I think we’ve shot at. She was built in 1896 on the River Clyde when Glasgow was recognised as the Second City of the Empire, The Tall Ship is now the only Clyde-built sailing ship still afloat in the UK.

Louise + Craig – Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club – 1st June 2019

Great to be back at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club over the weekend to shoot Louise and Craig’s big day. The slightly moody weather made for some great images.

Kelly + Gavin – Wedderburn Castle & Barns – 18th May 2019

We shot our first wedding at Wedderburn five years ago in 2014 in our first year as a videography company. The venue was also fairly new to the wedding market back then but has clearly gone from strength to strength and established itself as one of Scotland’s most romantic wedding venues. Wedderburn not only boasts the impressive castle with its light and spacious ballroom but also has a number of large converted barns for use as a rustic party venue.
